Although Drake, the Canadian superstar who has dropped multiple best-selling rap albums is taking a short break for his health, he’s done it again. He dropped an extended play (EP) that is a continuation of his Scary Hours series: Scary Hours 3 on Nov. 17, 2023.
The EP is on Drake’s most recent studio album, “For All The Dogs,” it was retitled as “For All The Dogs Scary Hours Edition.” The songs bring classic Drake back, with his unique, smartly placed lyrics, and “prime Drake” flow! He posted the EP’s album cover on his Instagram “champagnepapi,” which illustrates fairy vibes featuring girls holding hands on a purple background.
Also on his Instagram, Drake posted a video announcement a day before the EP was released with a monologue stating that he hasn’t been in the same mental state since he released his fourth studio album “If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late.” The EP is six songs long and was made in just five days. One of the songs called “Evil Ways” has a feature from J. Cole.
I was surprised Drake released new music just after he released a full studio album a few weeks before. When I started the first track, ‘Red Button,” it was different and refreshing. I think Drake put more effort into this EP than “For All The Dogs”.
When I took the time to listen to the EP, I was pleased with the outcome and much prefer it over “For All The Dogs”. There is more replay value in the six songs and certain moods are displayed throughout.
If you’re looking for a casual Drake song, “Stories About My Brother” and “Wick Man” are the best choices. However, if you’re looking for a hype song to get you going, “Red Button” and “You Broke My Heart” are great options!
“Scary Hours 3” is a great classic Drake EP and I would recommend a listen!

Dear Corydon Editor,
On January 29, 2024, Jeremy Tokudomi wrote an article titled, “Scary Hours 3” I want to emphasize his focus on how the new extended play compares to the recent album, “For All The Dogs”, and his old albums. I agree with his view, as it took time to grow on me. I like songs such as, “You Broke My Heart” which can create a good mood. I would have liked to hear some referenced songs from his older albums I can listen to that are similar to the most recent Scary Hours to find background information such as why he created the EP so soon after the studio album or the meaning behind certain songs. I appreciate the detail Tokudomi goes into when talking about the cover of the album or referencing Drake himself on what he stated on his Instagram story. Overall it is a well written article on a relevant topic that I find very interesting, informative and I think many others would feel the same.

Tokudomi’s article was well-written and easy to read. Tokudomi provided good context, allowing readers who may not be familiar with Drake’s most recent release. Tokudomi had a vast amount of detail throughout his article. The pacing of the article was enjoyable. Tokudomi’s comparison to Drake’s other recent release “For All the Dogs” was insightful. Strong vocabulary throughout the text made the article feel professional. I appreciated the description of the album cover because when I first saw the cover art, I didn’t really know what I was looking at, but Tokudomi summed it up.
Tokudomi provided a plethora of details that allowed the reader to leave feeling well-informed. Additionally, personal insight statements such as which songs were good as casual songs vs hype songs were very helpful and added a personal touch to the article. I didn’t know that Drake had made the six songs in five days. I also wonder when Drake will feel that his mental state has recovered so that he can produce more music and maybe go back on tour.

On January 29, 2024, Jeremy Tokudomi wrote an article titled “Scary Hours 3”. He does a good job explaining the context of what he is talking about for readers who may not be aware of Drake or just his new music. Jeremy gives context about the album Drake just released as well as his Instagram post and he gives specific details which is nice. Interesting facts or points are included such as the fact that Drake is taking time off because mental state isn’t the best and also that Drake composed these six songs in just 5 days. This article is well written for people who have no idea about music and Drake. Jeremy also gives his personal opinion on what he feels about these 6 songs, called an EP which he defined as “extended play”. He was not biased and he gave reasoning for why he liked these songs over some other ones. He connected to the audience as well by suggesting what songs they would like from the EP based on what kind of music they are more into.

On January 24, 2024 Jeremy Tokudomi wrote an article titled “Scary Hours 3”. The title of the article made it seem like something bad had happened but as you read it, it’s actually about the Canadian superstar Drake. The article talked about his extended play on the Scary Hour series. It talks about how he hasn’t released new music in quite some time. I recommend hearing his new extended play. Drake has a lot of fans, me included, his fans are typically teens and adults. If you have heard his music before you will also agree that his music is very fun to hear. I would have to say that this album isn’t my favorite because there are far more better ones in my opinion but it is still great music. If you haven’t listened to Drake’s music you can compare him to Travis Scott. Travis Scott has great music as well. Drake’s genre type of music is mostly hip hop and R&B. I definitely recommend listening to this album.
