From superheroes to deadites, to Greek gods, this summer’s slate of films is jam-packed with exciting new releases that have the Millikan community and general moviegoers racing to theaters!

The summer movie season just kicked off with the release of “The Devil Wears Prada 2” on May 1, and with the anticipated openings of “The Odyssey”, “Toy Story 5”, and others yet to come, there’s something for everyone to geek out about.

QUEST Sophomore Olivia Nuñez listed “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” and “Backrooms” as the summer flicks she’s most looking forward to, as well as “Passenger” releasing this May

Nuñez also commented on how this summer’s batch of releases have a good mix of “new ideas” and “some much anticipated continuations [i.e. Marvel films and franchise sequels],” noting how strong the variety of selection is.

Similarly, a Fandango report that surveyed over 6,000 ticket buyers, amongst previously listed titles, cited “Minions and Monsters”, “Supergirl”, and “Scary Movie” as what audiences are most eager for, further showcases the hype these event films have around them. 

With such a massive slate of features hitting the big screen this summer, whether you’re an A-List cinephile or a casual movie watcher, you’re bound to walk away with a new favorite.
