Abigail Peña is a junior in PEACE and has been listening to Kahan since freshman year. She’s very excited to see him live and to hear his older songs like “Paul Revere” despite enjoying his new album. “I love his new album, his songs [reflect] very deep feelings. I liked how there was a mix of happy and sad songs.” Her favorite lyric is “I’m with my best friend Dan now” from “Dan.”
The most popular tracks are “Doors,” “American Cars,” and “End of August,” which have also been trending on social media. Elizabeth Hawes, junior in MBA, is a really big Noah Kahan fan. “It’s kind of a sad album but I think it sounds really pretty and that it’s his best album yet,” says Hawes. “He hadn’t released a full album for a couple of years so it was relaxing being able to hear more music from him.”
Although he’s been making music since 2017, Kahan’s first career-defining song was the release of “Stick Season” in 2022, gaining recognition and putting him on the map of new artists. Deluxe rendition of the album “Stick Season,” “(We’ll All Be Here Forever)” also contained monumental hits like “Northern Attitude” and “You’re Gonna Go Far” along with memorable collaborations with Gracie Abrams, Lizzy McAlpine and Hozier among others. His older albums “Busyhead” and “I Was / I Am” as well as EP “Cape Elizabeth” are less known but well-loved by fans.
