Dear Brina,
Brina Sastyangkul is the embodiment of sunshine. Her gentle nature and kind heart lures you to her infectious energy. She is the heart of The Millikan Corydon.

It has been an honor and privilege to work in the same space as her but even more so to call her one of my best friends. Our snack runs to the student store or our meticulous planning of fundraisers are always an adventure with her. But running our school’s publication side by side has been one of the greatest joys of my life. We love our positions as Co-Editors-in-Chief, but what I love most is being able to do it with one of the best people I know.
Brina’s dedication and work ethic is like no other. She is determined to finish whatever she starts. I do not know what I would do without her by my side. She is my rock and always a person I can go to when I am feeling the overwhelmingness of a deadline or just the pressures of senior year. We have gone through it all together and I wouldn’t change it for the world.
We have seen each other grow as not only journalists but young adults who now have to go through a new adventure without one another. We will be an Amtrak ride away but I know our journey together will never finish. Brina Sastyangkul will always be apart of my journalism journey and as I sit in a lecture next year I will be forever indebted to the girl who let me fall in love with journalism and the one who believed I could follow my heart. Thank you Brina, for everything.

Dear Kayla,
A gentle laugh, a shared snack, a common brain. Kayla is, without a doubt, the most encouraging and selfless person I have ever met. In times where I could not fathom leading the Millikan Corydon alone, I knew I didn’t have to, because I had her. In times where I felt easily overwhelmed by the constant speedyness of a news publication, Kayla was already a step ahead. No matter how I felt walking into that class, Kayla was ready to tackle just about everything.
To me, a support system is the most valuable of all. The support system that Corydon has come to be is because of what Kayla has made it. I am so proud and grateful that I get to lead alongside my best friend. She has defined what leadership means in more ways than one: someone kind, funny, approachable, and strong. I know that every space Kayla finds herself in in the future will be blessed and filled with smiles. She brings a joy that no one else can replicate. Together, I hope we’re leaving behind a legacy that our team is proud of. Thank you to the whole staff and all the friends I’ve made in class for allowing me to experience what true community and friendship looks like. This class will always hold a special place in my heart.

Dear Rose,
To our next Editor-in-Chief, Rose, we are so excited for what is to come for you during your senior year! Your love for this publication and our admiration of you brings us confidence that you will lead your team to success. We have no doubt that you will continue to be the leader and best friend that we’ve had the pleasure of knowing. We’ll miss you, but we will never be far enough away.
