Boys Varsity Lacrosse are currently mid season with a strong 5-1 record and want to “win the Moore League Championship” according to head coach Jared Weckerly. The Rams ended last season with an 8-4 record competing in the Moore League.
Weckerly goes on to explain that, “We’ve upped the pace of practice and have been focusing on intensity. We’re probably more athletic than everybody else in the league… we can outrun any of them and probably outshoot any of them.” He also says that they’ve definitely improved and grown as a team since last season.

So far, the Rams have defeated Lynwood (20-6), Compton (12-6), Downey (14-4) Lakewood (19-0) and a big win against Long Beach Poly (20-3). According to Coach Weckerly, their biggest competitor is Wilson, who they lost to last season. They lost against Wilson 6-11 on Mar. 17, but plan to defeat them the next time around.
Garrett Bruhl is a senior in MBA and is one of the varsity captains. “I think we’re playing really well so far this season and we plan to stay undefeated. I’m most excited for playing my heart out with my teammates,” says Bruhl. “I help contribute as a captain by bringing energy to the team and getting everyone fired up to play.”
Varsity player Jacob Robledo, senior in MBA, states, “We have a strong connection and a lot more chemistry than last year. I think we have a solid skill level crossing and we’ve come off pretty physically in all of our games.”
Come out and support the Rams at their next home game against Compton on Mar. 26 at 4:30p.m. and stay tuned for the rest of their season through April!
