The Los Angeles Dodgers have won the 2025 World Series!
Game seven was an absolute frenzy! In the 9th inning, with one out, Miguel Rojas clobbered a home run to left field, tying the game at four each and sending the baseball world into a frenzy. Then, in the top of the 10th inning, after outfielder Andy Pages went full sprint to cover for Kike Hernandez to make a great catch in the 9th, Dodger catcher Will Smith hit another homerun to left field to give the Dodgers a five to four lead. Finally, Yoshinobu Yamamoto closed the door on the Jays, giving the Dodgers back-to-back world series titles!
Game six was an elimination game for the Dodgers, down three games to two, were able to hold off a late blue jays comeback as it started when a hit ball got wedged between the left field wall! Then, the Dodgers were able to get a game ending double play off a Kike Hernandez catch and a baserunning mistake for the Blue Jays.
In game five, Dodgers starter Snell gave up two home runs on three pitches in the first inning and that set the tone for the rest of the game, with the Dodgers offense being shut down by Trey Yesavage.
In game four, trailing 0-1 in the third inning, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hit a go-ahead home run to put the Blue Jays up two to one and the Jays never trailed for the rest of the game, evening the series two games apiece.
Game three equaled the longest game in World Series history, going 18 innings with 2024 World Series hero Freddie Freeman hitting a walkoff homerun to win six to five. In game two, starter Yoshi Yamamoto pitched his second complete game of the postseason, giving up just four hits and one run!

In game one of the World Series, the game was tied two to two until the Blue Jays half of the sixth inning, after Dodgers’ starter Blake Snell and relievers Anthony Banda and Emmett Sheehan combined to give up nine runs in that inning.
The 2025 Major League Baseball (MLB) Postseason was filled with much excitement as the 2025 World Series kicked off on Friday, Oct. 24, 25.
The National League Championship Series (NLCS) was completed on the night of Friday, Oct. 17 when the Los Angeles Dodgers completed their four game sweep over the Milwaukee Brewers.
Kate Palacios, a Junior at Millikan in COMPASS, was interviewed about the World Series. She stated that she is a Dodger fan. When asked about her thoughts on the series, Kate said, “I think both teams played really well. I also think both teams deserved the World Series. I’m proud of the Dodgers for making it this far.”
The American League Championship Series (ALCS) was completed on Monday, Oct. 20 in seven thrilling games with the Blue Jays winning the series four games to three.
One major surprise was the New York Yankees, last season’s American League Champs and World Series runner-ups, getting eliminated from the postseason by the Toronto Blue Jays in the American League Division Series.

When looking over this month’s Millikan Corydon, I came across this article. It sparked my interest because I have grown up in a Dodger family. My dad played baseball all his adolescence; he taught me the rules of the game and instilled in me a love for the sport. When I was little, we would go to games and watch them on TV. It is extremely fascinating how they won back-to-back World Series titles!
I admire how this article explains the events that led up to the last, final, and intense game. As well as an explanation of the other six games in the World Series. This recap provides an in-depth account of how the Dodgers won the World Series, from the National League Championship Series (NLCS) to game seven of the World Series.
It would be exceptional if the article included direct insight from both Dodger and Blue Jay fans about this major victory or loss, not just a Dodger fan.

As a life-long Dodger fan, this article gave me a sense of pride and joy because it reminded me of the Dodgers’ victory. From the very beginning of the article, he grabbed my attention with an exciting and suspenseful description of Game 7 of the World Series. I appreciated Niren’s utilization of reverse chronological order, by presenting the final game first, then descending game by game until the ALCS and NLCS. I admired the addition of the photo of Mr. Robinson and Mrs. Frapwell on the Dodger golf cart. Although Game 7 may have been the most important game, due to the title, I would suggest providing a more detailed description of the entirety of the postseason rather than mainly elaborating on the World Series. I might also present the concern that this article may be difficult to follow for some because the article features baseball terminology and vocabulary words that require prior knowledge to comprehend. Overall, this article is fascinating and engaging on a very relevant topic.

As a fan of the MLB and especially the postseason, this article really intrigued me as it reminds me of the highlights of this year’s postseason. Niren greatly described how intense game 7 of the 2025 World Series was through his explanation of all the turning points in the game that all led to the final result. Niren’s article recapped every game in the World Series, briefly overviewing the best moments of each game which I greatly appreciated. Finally, he also went over every round in the postseason (NLCS/ALCS, NLDS/ALDS), recounting the process the Dodgers had to overcome to become back to back world champions and how the Blue Jays made it to the World Series, becoming the runners up.
The article was very well written and well explained, providing an overall recap of the entire postseason. Although the article had a good amount of detail, I believe that it could have a bit more detail and explanation of every round, including the Wild Card because the article is about the entire 2025 postseason and the article mainly goes over the Dodgers path to their victory. An overview of the entire postseason from beginning to end would give a better understanding of every team’s journey through the postseason and better summarize the postseason in its entirety. Overall, I believe that the article is applaudable and very informational. The article is very informational and gives outstanding recaps about every game. I’m very grateful for this article and the reminder it gives me of how electric this year’s MLB postseason was.

Likewise to Niren’s opinion of “Game seven was an absolute frenzy!”, I also fully agree with him. Game 7 was one of the best games of baseball I have watched in my entire life. More specifically, I think also inning 9 was one of the best innings because Miguel Rojas hit the tying run to eventually win the World Series. No one expected him to do anything during this series especially since he didn’t start game 1. My favorite part of his up bat was how quiet the Blue Jays stadium was when Rojas hit the ball out of the park. Moreover, Niren overall write a great review on each game of the entire World Series. Every game had amazing moments and Niren summarized each highlight concisely and clearly for the me and the reader to understand.

The 2025 postseason was one of the most eventful in history. The amount of action and drama that the Dodgers experienced throughout the 7 games was almost enough for a lifetime. Pointing out specific events that happened in each game was very helpful and helps to guide the reader throughout the series. One key part of the series that led to the Dodgers’ victory was the ball getting stuck between the wall and the ground during game six. It was very controversial and caused many Blue Jays fans to be outraged. Many believe that if it weren’t for that ball getting stuck, the Dodgers would’ve lost the series entirely. Additionally, the Blue Jays may have even played better than the Dodgers in the playoffs. They hit better than the Dodgers in many games, and most likely would’ve won if they had better pitching in clutch situations. If it weren’t for the ball getting stuck, would the Dodgers still be calling themselves the 2025 champions? Or would the Blue Jays be bringing in their first title since the early 90s? Despite this, the Dodgers did play incredibly well, and deserve the trophy against many resentful Toronto fans’ wishes.
