Long Beach is honoring the Hispanic community by hosting events across the city.  From Sept 15th to Oct 15th we tribute to the contributions Hispanic people have made to the world. The Aquarium of The Pacific hosted their 18th annual Baja Slash Cultural Festival. The virtual festival took place on Oct 2 and 3, 2021. There were live crafts, dances, and music. From Sept 15-30, 2021, Cal State Long Beach was accommodating a chain of workshops for the Hispanic community. These took place on the CSULB campus. They discussed important topics about immigration, healthcare, and legal advisory.

Jeanette Sanchez, Millikan’s AP Spanish teacher, believes that honoring Hispanic heritage is important. “I think it is a great idea to dedicate a month to tribute culture but it’s not enough. I teach all my students that culture is vibrant, I show it by incorporating music in my classroom,” she says. No matter your race or ethnicity, it’s important to celebrate the contributions others have made to the world.
