Millikan’s boys tennis preseason is wrapping up and our boys are ready to “smash” their competition in the upcoming Moore League season. During preseason they won three games and lost two, and our teams are even more determined to play their hardest.
New head coach as of the ‘24-’25 season, Spencer Pozgay, reflects on the previous girls tennis season and discusses the changes he is making to get this year’s boys team to win the Moore League title.
“I’ve realized that we need to be doing a little bit more conditioning, just kind of getting into it more,” says Coach Spencer.
QUEST freshman Sam Fies, a doubles player on JV, recounts a tough preseason and says, “I think it’s gonna go really well, our preseason matches were against really hard teams and our regular season matches are against some easier teams comparatively.”

With their rigorous practice schedule, both Varsity and JV boys tennis are ready to take on their competitors, especially their seemingly biggest competition: Wilson and Poly.
“It’s going to be a tough season for sure because Wilson is always extremely difficult to beat and Poly has also always been a challenge for us,” says a determined Coach Spencer, “It’s always one of those things where we have to perform when we get to our matches.”
The boy’s first game was Mar. 11, but make sure to check the Millikan Athletics Newsletter to stay updated on upcoming games to come and support our team this season!
