Lady Gaga has emerged back onto the dancefloor with her latest body of work, “MAYHEM.” Released Mar. 7, 2025 (disregarding multiple film-soundtracks) this would intervene a near five year hiatus since Gaga had released her last original album (Chromatica).
Her fans, known as “little monsters”, have been left in a frenzy, excitedly anticipating what the feisty fame monster would birth next.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Gaga describes “MAYHEM” as a return to “gothic dreams”. Haunting hits like the ghostly discotheque “Abracadabra” plagued the attention of fans in the best way possible when she premiered it as a commercial at the 2025 Superbowl.

Through an unpredictable circumstance, “How Bad Do U Want Me” has snatched the attention of many on social media. Countless videos have either compared or remixed Taylor Swift’s “Hits Different” (2022) with “How Bad Do U Want Me,” noting interchangeable production and lyric flow. While there is no definitive mention of Swift in the song’s credits, it is evident that fans are hungry for a collaboration between the two.
Single “Die With a Smile” featuring Bruno Mars is the smash of the album, breaking an all-time record for the fastest song to reach two-billion streams on Spotify. Even non-singles “Garden of Eden,” “Zombieboy,” and “Vanish Into You” have already begun tugging at the heart for many. COMPASS Senior Brooke Vu says, “Gaga’s music has always given me a place of security because of her unapologetic authenticity.”
Lady Gaga has managed to create sinisterly savoring, versatility bleeding, club-ready hits alongside tenderhearted ballads, further proving she is the music powerhouse we know her as today.
