On Monday February 11, Millikan’s Softball team began their 2025 campaign. With hopes to build off of a great 2024 season, expectations are high for a deep CIF playoff run!
In preparation for this season, these ladies have been fine tuning their skills during scrimmages as well as building strong connections on the field with one another.
With previous starters graduating, the influx of new players on varsity shows considerable potential for this team. These unique and talented players are excited to get on the field and compete for another Moore League Championship, previously winning as League champs for the past four years.

Practices have been straightforward in devising plays, hosting intrasquad scrimmages, and their first two official season games against Chino Hills and Gahr High School. The team powered through these two games coming out victorious in both, setting the tone for this season.
One of our varsity players, Jocelyn Owen, a senior in PEACE, has mentioned that her preparation mentally is “to have fun becuase it’s my senior year and my last high school season before college softball, so I want to have fun and really just enjoy playing with my friends one last time.”
Coming in strong this season, our varsity team is introducing some new freshmen onto the field, two new girls, Jade Torres and Aissley Smith. Despite being some of the less experienced members on the squad, they look to help not only the team but improve themselves for future seasons to come.
Michelle Lehr, coach of the Millikan Softball team has stated that “Position needs, skill-sets, power, and strength were key factors,” in determining these two freshmen girls’ status on the team.

Their Moore League season starts Mar. 13 where they will play their rival, Lakewood High School, at Mayfair park at 6:30 P.M. The squad does, however, have a few tournaments beforehand, like one taking place in Arizona.
