Meet Ms. Maya Efrat, Millikan’s new Drama Director is here, and she’s kicking off her first year at Millikan with the fall production of “Radium Girls.”
Her inspiration to pick “Radium Girls” came from the message of the play. “Radium Girls” sends the message about “fighting against injustice and not backing down.” In the near future of Millikan Theatre and Drama, she plans to bring more classical pieces like Shakespeare.
Since it was her first time holding auditions at Millikan, she said she “was so happily surprised with the amount of talent that the school has.” She says 58 students auditioned, and she ultimately cast 39 for “Radium Girls”.

When Efrat was asked about what she plans on bringing to the Drama Department, Efrat added, “I also want to bring a lot of fun and excitement to the theater and remind people that it’s not that serious and that it’s really an outlet for us to enjoy ourselves.”
Amidst excitement for this year’s fall musical, we also anticipate the announcement of their Spring production. Look out on the Millikan Drama Instagram for the announcement in the coming weeks. Welcome to Millikan, Ms. Efrat!
