Millikan Boys Golf is teeing up for greatness! This season the Boys Varsity Golf team defeated Wilson, handing the Bruins their first loss in Moore League play in nineteen years. Although Millikan fell short of the Moore League title, they had a successful season finishing 7-1 overall.

“I would rate our season very highly, I think we crushed expectations and surprised a lot of people,” said QUEST junior and Varsity golfer Danny Anderson.
They defeated Wilson and broke their streak on Apr. 2 by a score of 197-205 (both team’s golfers combined score) and had four golfers shoot an impressive 39 strokes (the amount of shots it took to finish all nine holes, the lowest score wins).
Anderson adds, “We all felt pure euphoria when we beat Wilson, this was my first year on the team but the rest of the guys had been a part of [Willson’s] winning streak at some point, and putting an end to it is something we are really proud of.”
The Millikan golfers participated in the CIF playoffs on May 20th: a 20-team, one-day tournament. The team that shoots the best through 18 holes is the champion of their CIF division. Millikan’s division four CIF tournament was held at the Los Serranos golf course in Chino Hills where Millikan finished with a score of 390 compared to Woodbridge high school who placed first with a score of 373.

Varsity had a great season and proved they’re getting better every year. Even though they didn’t win the Moore League title, they finished strong heading into CIF. We’re looking forward to seeing what they accomplish next year!
