Students and staff came together this past month to celebrate the life of beloved Millikan staff member Sandra Olmedo-Richardson.
Millikan head principal, Dr. Alexander shared the news to the Millikan community on Friday, Apr. 18th saying, “It is with deep sadness that I share the news that Sandra Olmedo-Richardson, our Intervention Coordinator… passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and loved ones on Wednesday evening.”

Friends and family refer to Mrs. Olmedo as a “beam of light”. They say she made the people around her feel like a member of her family and put her entire heart into everything she did.
Mrs. Berger, Millikan MBA World History teacher and Cheer Advisor said, “In the short time I got to work with her, every meeting and every task we needed to do was met with her honest enthusiasm and want to be at work and care for kids. It was so enlightening to be around her.”
Mrs. Berger says she feels so lucky to have had the privilege of not only knowing her as a person, but to also have seen first hand the work she was able to do here in the Millikan community.
If you feel compelled to do so, here is a link to a GoFundMe set up by the family of Mrs. Olmedo to raise money to support her husband and young son.
Sandra Olmedo-Richardson was a light dimmed far too soon and her presence will be missed dearly here at Millikan.
